Before It Leaves Your Device
Every piece of your collection data is encrypted in your browser before it reaches our servers. We store only encrypted blobs — we literally cannot read your information.
Client-side encryption: When you save any data — a firearm, photo, or document — it's encrypted using AES-256-GCM before being sent to our servers. The encryption key is derived from your PIN using PBKDF2.
What we store: Our database contains only encrypted binary blobs. Serial numbers, photos, purchase prices — all of it is indecipherable without your PIN.
Cross-device sync: When you sign in on another device and enter your PIN, the encrypted data is downloaded and decrypted locally. Your PIN never leaves your device.
Brute force protection: Failed PIN attempts trigger progressive lockouts. Combined with email and password requirements, brute forcing your 6-digit PIN would take ~57 years on average.
